  • How we started

    1981-83

    "Established on April 22, 1981, Halsiddanath Sahakari Sakkare Karkhane Ltd. (HSSKL) in Nipani, Karnataka, started as a 1250 TCD sugar factory. Upgraded to 3500 TCD in 2017-2018, HSSKL has been a hub of innovation. The cooperative mill, with a 15 MW co-generation plant, is now advancing into ethanol production under the central government's EBP scheme. In response to the challenges posed by increased sugarcane production, HSSKL is on a progressive path. Seeking expansion and additional cane command area, the cooperative aims to reach a minimum viable capacity of 8500 TCD, exemplifying a blend of tradition and modernity in its pursuit of excellence."

    Halsiddanath Sahakari Sakkare Karkhane Ltd. (HSSKL) has evolved from a 1250 TCD factory in 1981 to a modernized 3500 TCD unit with a 15 MW Co-generation plant. Now, the cooperative sugar mill is gearing up for a significant expansion, aiming to increase its sugar plant capacity to 8500 TCD. This strategic move includes utilizing existing machinery efficiently, introducing an ethanol plant under the EBP scheme, and broadening processing capabilities. The expansion aligns with government guidelines, securing additional cane command area in Karnataka to support increased sugarcane production and address the challenges posed by the growing demand in the sugar industry. HSSKL's forward-looking plan integrates sustainability, diversification, and governmental support for a robust and dynamic future.

    The Area of operational of the sugar factory has been spared over 12,500 Hectares in Nipani Taluka The total Membership of the sugar factory is 24429 as on 31-3-2015. On achieving best consistent working result from 1991-92. Our sugar factory has been selected in the year 1993-94 for the installation of Ultra Modern Machinery by Sugar Technology Mission, Govt. of India.
